What is the meaning behind the Star and Anchor Tattoos?
I wanted to have some tattoos on my hands. They are an anchor and star. However, I can not remember the meaning or origins of tattoos. I remember the idea of a veteran of World War II who said tattoos were of Norse mythology. The stars are supposed to represent the light of the right path in life and the anchor is supposed to represent the ability to stay on the right path in life. I'm not sure these and wanted to know more. Thanks for all the help. They do not mean anything to me, I just wanted to be sure of its origins and meanings
I I have a tattoo of an anchor on my hip. I got it because I love the rockabilly style and the whole aspect of classic tattoos. I know that an anchor (of course) was given a great number of sailors in the Second World War. Furthermore, early Christians wore necklaces of anchoring, because they resemble a cross when they were persecuted by the Greeks. An anchor stabilitly can also mean land and stay in times of difficulty, which is the meaning behind me (my boyfriend is my anchor:]). I think it's a great idea!
