tattoo cover stretch marks?

is possible that a tattoo can cover up stretch marks? I have stretch marks on the back of the waist due lovehandles weight loss and I would get to cover so I can wear a bikini one day what if I get a tattoo or something darker? my stretch marks r pretty old well, lotion, cream or anything else, probably isn't going to help. perhaps the surgery, but I can not allow that
