How are seen tattoos in the workplace?
I'm thinking of getting a small wrist tattoo (nothing offensive), his only place where I find myself saying, If I will love him there. My gf says its not a good idea because its not easy to hide, it may affect me getting certain jobs work (especially the government). What do you think?
I'm guessing you are new to the workforce or have had some jobs relaxed … but yes, can sometimes have an effect on you getting a job. some places will not hire if it is beyond the elbow (some police Depts) the military may or may not problems … depends on how badly they need people to enlist. personally some people will judge based on tattoos. can be a real policy in place … If something of a watch may cover, then there can be a great thing, but really it considers putting it somewhere else until you have established yourself and know what you want doing with your life. Do not let a cool tatt you from a good job. can always be found later when fewer people care. Or when you can afford to care less! It's easy to say "screw the man!" now, but it is very difficult to apologize (and remove) later! I am 10 and they are all places that can cover and I have one on the top of the foot and the back of my neck. the rest are in places that are only in tank tops and bathing suits, pants short and do not like dres on the job, so I do not care! I use socks and my long hair down. Most people at work knew I had not nothing! One on my neck kept me from joining the army for some days …. lament and others (the majority) I thank my stars! A lot of places have no real idea and do not care as long as they are not offensive. Mine does not care. Employers are becoming more tolerant (many of us have tatts now) but the business is business and even according to the company which is, simply could not go over well.
